The Location
Conveniently nestled in a peaceful area of Champraz and just a short stroll from the charming village of Chamonix Les Praz, Chalet Papillon offers the perfect balance of serenity and convenience. The chalet is under a 10-minute walk—or just a 2-minute drive—from both Les Praz and the new Flégère gondola. Chamonix centre is just a 5 min drive or a beautiful 20 min stroll along the river.
The Flégère gondola provides direct access to the Brévent/Flégère ski area, the largest in the Chamonix Valley, and is also the starting point for the iconic Lac Blanc hike during the summer months.
Les Praz itself is a picturesque alpine village featuring a local épicerie, several well-loved restaurants and bars, as well as the Chamonix golf course and a cross-country ski track. Public transport is easily accessible, with both a bus stop and a train station just a few minutes’ walk from the chalet, offering seamless access to Chamonix town centre and the valley’s other ski areas. The living space is enhanced by large and comfortable sofas, a generous dining table, flat-screen TV and a cosy log-burning stove—perfect for relaxing after a day in the mountains.
The contemporary kitchen comes fully equipped with high-end appliances, including a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and a coffee machine, making it ideal for both light meals and evening entertaining.
Step out onto the sizeable balcony, complete with sun loungers, or follow the steps down to the sunny, private garden—perfect for outdoor dining or unwinding in nature.
Also located on the upper floor is a comfortable double bedroom and a stylish bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and WC. Additionally, a staircase provides access to an office space and reading area with a pull out double sofa bed.

What’s Included
Self-catered bookings include linen and towels based on the standard guest configuration. If your property features a sofa bed and you require additional linen to accommodate maximum occupancy, a supplementary linen fee of €25 will apply. The rate also includes end-of-stay cleaning and the local taxe de séjour (tourist tax), which provides access to a Carte d’Hôtes. This card grants complimentary use of local trains and discounts on museum admissions and other attractions.
Standard check-in is available between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with check-out required by 10:00 AM. Please note that late arrivals may incur additional charges. If your property permits pets, additional fees apply. Dogs are charged at €15 per night per dog; however, cats are not permitted in any Alpes Travel properties.
Payment Terms and Cancellation
To confirm the booking, you must pay 10% of the total cost. Along with the accommodation fee, you will be charged a local tourist tax of €4.60 per adult per night. The remaining balance will be automatically charged to the provided card 30 days before your arrival. You will receive an email notification prior to the balance being charged.
If you cancel your booking via email up to 30 days before arrival, you will receive a full refund. However, within 30 days of arrival, the booking becomes non-refundable.
Please note that a temporary damage deposit of €1,000 will be charged on the day of arrival and held for the duration of the stay. The deposit will be released upon check-out.
